The players held a minute’s silence before kick off during France’s last group-stage game against Norway at the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Boston.
The gesture was to pay respects to the people who lost their lives during the recent earthquake in the South American country Venezuela.
The other Group I game between Senegal and Iraq also had a moment’s silence before the start of play.
