Despite being without talisman Christian Pulisic, co-host USA defeated Australia 2-0 to remain unbeaten in Group D of the FIFA World Cup 2026 at the Seattle Stadium on Friday.

This was the home side’s second consecutive win in the tournament after it had beaten Paraguay 4-1.

A Cameron Burgess own goal and a header from Alex Freeman, both in the first half, were enough for Mauricio Pochettino’s team to book its spot in the Round of 32.
