Guillermo Ochoa has not been named in the starting line-up for Mexico in its FIFA World Cup 2026 clash against South Korea in Guadalajara on Thursday.
The 40-year-old is playing his sixth World Cup, and is level with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the only two players to achieve this feat.
Mexico head coach has preferred Guadalajara goalkeeper Raul Rangel in goal for El Tri ahead of the 153-cap veteran. Ochoa has played just 135 minutes for the side since March 2024 and very much remains a squad option.
He is into his 22nd year of professional football and most recently played for AEL Limassol in the Cyprus League.
