Mexico became the first team to qualify for the round of 32 of FIFA World Cup 2026 after its close win over South Korea in a Group-A encounter in Guadalajara.
Luis Romo scored the deciding goal in the 50th minute, slotting in a ball into the net after South Korea keeper Kim Seung-gyu spilt a high ball in the box after colliding with his teammate.
The win took El Tri to top spot in the group with six points ahead of its final contest against Czechia on June 25.
