The first round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 concluded, with Argentina defeating Jordan 2-1 and Algeria drawing 2-2 with Austria in their respective Group J matches on Saturday.

This edition of the World Cup is featuring 48 teams, of which 32 have qualified for the second round, either as the top two teams from each group or as one of the best third-placed teams.
