Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals are set to face off in the IPL 2026 Eliminator in New Chandigarh on May 27.
The winner of that clash will move to Qualifier 2, where it will take on Gujarat Titans at the same venue two days later.
Whichever side comes out on top on Wednesday night will look to make unlikely history and win the IPL after coming through the Eliminator for the first time since 2016.
SRH was itself the last team to do so after finishing third in the points table in 2016. It defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator at New Delhi before stunning Gujarat Lions at the same venue two days later.
It then capped its remarkable run of three victories in a row by defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru at its home ground in Bengaluru to secure its only IPL till date. It has since qualified for two finals, in 2018 and 2024.
The last team to reach the final through the Eliminator was Kolkata Knight Riders in 2021, where it lost to Chennai Super Kings.
