Lionel Messi on Monday missed a penalty during Argentina’s FIFA World Cup 2026 Group J match against Austria in Dallas.

Lionel Messi on Monday missed a penalty during Argentina’s FIFA World Cup 2026 Group J match against Austria in Dallas.

Taking the spot kick in the ninth minute after Lautaro Martinez was brought down in the penalty box, Messi fired his shot wide to the right side of the goal.

The last time the Argentina talisman missed from the spot was against Poland during the 2022 World Cup.
