Turkiye ended its FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign on a positive note after beating co-host USA 3-2 in its final Group D match at the Los Angeles Stadium on Thursday.

Neither side had any stakes coming into the game, as the Americans had already sealed first place after beating Paraguay and Australia in their previous games, while Turkiye was eliminated after losses against the same opposition.

Auston Trusty fired the home side into the lead in the third minute, but it lasted just seven minutes as Arda Guler found the back of the net at the other end.

Baris Alper Yilmaz then put Turkiye in front just after the half-hour mark, but the game was levelled again after Sebastian Berhalter found the bottom left corner with a strike from the edge of the box, four minutes after the restart.

However, it was Turkiye that had the last laugh as Kaan Ayhan tapped the ball in from close range in the eighth minute of added time to take all three points.
