The Indian Super League (ISL 2025-26) title race is going down to the wire with as many seven teams still mathematically involved in the picture.
East Bengal squandered a big opportunity to increase its lead at the top to four points ahead of second-placed Mohun Bagan Super Giant, which faces Inter Kashi on Tuesday.
With the league season approaching a tantalising end, Sportstar looks at the teams involved in the ISL title race and their scenarios.

Which teams can still win the title?
East Bengal (Pos: 1, Pts: 22)
East Bengal’s destiny is still in its own hands with two games remaining. Even if Mohun Bagan wins its game in hand, East Bengal can claim its first domestic league title in 22 years, if it wins its last two matches of the season.
Matches remaining: Mohun Bagan (A), Inter Kashi (A)
Mohun Bagan Super Giant (Pos: 2, Pts: 21)
Mohun Bagans’ bid to retain its ISL title remains on track despite a mid-season stutter. Two wins from its remaining three games will be enough for the Mariners to seal the championship.
Matches remaining: Inter Kashi (H), East Bengal (H), Sporting Club Delhi (H)
Jamshedpur FC (Pos: 3, Pts: 21)
Jamshedpur has an outside chance but its destiny is out of its hands. Jamshedpur can go upto a maximum of 24 points so it will need the results of the teams above them -- East Bengal and Mohun Bagan -- and below them -- Punjab FC and Mumbai City FC -- to go in its favour.
Matches remaining: Odisha FC (H)
Bengaluru FC (Pos: 4, Pts: 20)
Bengaluru has only an outside chance with just a game remaining in the season. The Blues need to win their last game and hope all the other title challengers falter spectacularly.
Matches remaining: Chennaiyin FC (A)
FC Goa (Pos: 5, Pts: 20)
FC Goa’s scenario is the same as Bengaluru FC.
Matches remaining: Kerala Blasters (A)
Punjab FC (Pos: 6, Pts: 19)
Punjab FC can go to a mximum of 25 points with two games remaining. If it manages to win the two matches, it can win the title, if East Bengal and Mohun Bagan don’t win their remaining matches.
Matches remaining: Odisha FC (A), Mumbai City FC (H)
Mumbai City FC (Pos: 7, Pts: 19)
Mumbai City can also go to a maximum of 25 points but will have to hope that East Bengal and Mohun Bagan fail to win their remaining matches.
Matches remaining: Mohammedan (A), Punjab FC (A)
