Australian forward Nestory Irankunda opened the scoring for his side at the FIFA World Cup 2026 during the Group D match against Turkiye at the BC Place in Vancouver on Sunday.
He latched onto a long ball from Paul Okon-Engstler before getting into the opposition box and burying the ball into the bottom left corner.
Irankunda currently plays his club football with Watford FC and has recorded four goals and five assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
Ahead of the 2024-25 season, he secured a move to German giant Bayern Munich but did not make a single appearance for the club.
