Norway returned to the FIFA World Cup after 28 years, and will look to continue making its journey memorable as it plays in the round of 32 next, having qualified as the second-placed team from Group E.
Having thrashed Iraq 4-1 and pipping Senegal 3-2 in the first two group-stage matches, the Norwegians secured a spot in the knockouts. Against France, it fielded a second-string side with most of its first-team regulars, including Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard, rested.
Le Blues dominated the match from the beginning, with Ousmane Dembele netting a hat-trick and Desire Doue heading the fourth goal in in their 4-1 victory.
As a result, Norway finished second in Group I. It will play Ivory Coast for a spot in the round of 16 at the Dallas Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on June 30.
