Tvasta Manufacturing Solutions, a deep-tech start-up specialising in construction 3D printing, has partnered with construction technology company 14Trees to develop ‘Cedar’, a concrete 3D concrete printer.
Designed and manufactured in India, the concrete printer combines advanced robotics, large build volume, and AI-driven material optimisation to make 3D concrete printing more cost-effective and accessible.
Unlike most 3D printing systems that rely on costly mortar-based materials that limit local sourcing flexibility, Cedar is engineered to work with standard concrete formulations, reducing material costs by up to 5x, the start-up said in a media release.
“Construction 3D printing has already proven its technical viability. For the technology to scale across the global construction industry, it must also make strong economic sense for developers and contractors. Cedar was designed to dramatically improve project economics, lowering the cost barrier and enabling construction companies to deploy 3D printing at scale,” said Francois Perrot, CEO, 14Trees, said.
“By combining advanced manufacturing capabilities with cutting-edge robotics and software, Cedar delivers a robust and reliable system built for deployment across highly diverse construction environments,” Adithya V S, CEO, Tvasta, said.
