Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said it has suspended pending enquiry several employees from its Nashik office for alleged sexual assault and religious coercion of women employees.
“As soon as we were made aware of the matter in Nashik, we took swift action. The employees being investigated, have been suspended pending enquiry,” said a TCS spokesperson, citing a long-standing zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and coercion of any form.
Earlier, the city police arrested at least six TCS officials for allegedly harassing women during a meeting. At least nine FIRs have been filed, as per media reports, for failing to give due consideration to earlier complaints. with a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is now probing the complaints. businessline reached out to the Nashik police but did not receive a comment on the incident.
“We have always ensured the highest standards of safety and wellbeing of our employees at the workplace. We are cooperating with the local law enforcement authorities, and any further action will be based on the conclusion of this investigation,” said TCS in its statement.
