Actor-politician C Joseph Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam(TVK), on Thursday, released its manifesto for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2026. The manifesto, released here at a meeting of party functionaries, has proposed a host of welfare schemes. 

The party has promised a ₹2,500 per month grant for the female heads of families, alongside six free LPG cylinders and 8 grams of gold. It has also announced a silk saree for brides and a gold ring for newborns. The manifesto promises a grant of ₹4,000 for unemployed youth and the creation of 5 lakh new government jobs and internships. The government will also provide interest-free higher education loans of ₹20 lakh. 

For farmers, the party will provide a full waiver of agricultural loans for those owning less than 5 acres of land and 50 per cent waivers for the rest. It will also bring a minimum support prices for paddy and sugarcane. 

As for the development of Tamil Nadu, the party has envisioned a $1.5 trillion economy by 2026 alongside commitments like setting up an AI ministry and AI parks. It has also allocated ₹15,000 crore support for MSMEs and promised business licences in 21 days for those who intend to invest in Tamil Nadu. 

Beyond these welfare schemes, TVK has also promised corruption-free governance, alongside some unusual policies such as allowing people to decide 10 per cent of the State’s budget allocation and dedicating one day of the Assembly sessions for hearing public appeals.
