West Asia Turmoil: India raises LPG prices a day after invoking emergency powers to boost production
India has raised cooking gas prices by ₹60 per cylinder for both PMUY and non-PMUY users amid rising global LPG prices and supply disruptions from West Asia following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
The government is also seeking additional cargoes from the US and Canada while directing refiners to maximise domestic production to manage supply for more than 33 crore consumers.
