India, US likely to sign joint statement on bilateral trade deal in 4-5 days: Goyal
Let’s start with India-US trade. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said the two countries are expected to sign a joint statement on the first tranche of their trade agreement in the next 4–5 days. After that, the US is likely to cut tariffs on Indian goods to 18 per cent. Currently, Indian exports face a 25 per cent reciprocal tariff and an additional 25 per cent tariff linked to Russian crude. The joint statement will later become a full legal agreement, expected by mid-March.

Cognizant grants employees 100% bonus after a strong quarterly performance
In tech news, Cognizant closed 2025 with 6.4 per cent growth and a sixth straight quarter of organic revenue rise, prompting a 100 per cent bonus payout for employees. CEO S Ravi Kumar credited the workforce, as the company also posted a December-quarter net profit of $648 million and revenue of $5.33 billion.

Bharat Taxi, India’s first cooperative-led cab service, starts ride
On the innovation front, Bharat Taxi, India’s first cooperative-led ride-hailing platform, was launched by Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah after a pilot in Delhi-NCR and Gujarat. The zero-commission, surge-free platform shares profits directly with drivers. Over 3 lakh drivers have joined, completing 10,000 rides daily, with ₹10 crore paid out so far. It also provides insurance, retirement savings, and support, aiming for nationwide expansion in two years.

Boeing to cut around 300 defence division supply chain jobs
In aviation, Boeing plans to cut around 300 supply chain jobs in its defence division this week, while remaining in hiring mode with over 1,300 openings. The company’s workforce grew to 182,000 in 2025 as it ramps up commercial jet production and begins work on the B-47 stealth fighter.
