No changes were proposed to the Delimitation Commission Act, says government
The Government clarified there is no plan to amend the Delimitation Act and reiterated that women’s 33 per cent reservation would be implemented after delimitation following the post-2026 Census, potentially enabling rollout by the 2029 elections, alongside a proposal to expand Lok Sabha seats from 543 to around 850 to ensure proportional representation without reducing the share of southern states.
