Aloe vera, consistent workouts, ashwagandha and magnesium

1. Aloe vera: Up at 6.30 am, I start my morning with two glasses of water with aloe vera. It’s a habit I’ve stayed loyal to, because it creates a calm, predictable start before the day gets demanding. I avoid jumping straight into screens or conversations. That short window of quiet helps organise my thoughts to approach the day with intention rather than urgency.

2. Consistency: Workouts are largely strength-led, weights, functional movements, a short stretch of cardio, and  yoga. Strength training builds endurance, while yoga supports flexibility, breathing, and mental balance. Consistency matters over intensity. Wearing the WHOOP band (wearable fitness tracker) earlier this year sharpened my awareness of how these small rituals affect recovery, stress levels, and daily readiness.

3. Clean eating: Breakfast is usually eggs or chila with coffee. Lunch stays light — mostly salads, and dinner is intentionally uncomplicated — often soup and chicken. I don’t follow food trends or extreme diets. Clean eating is about clarity and energy, not restriction. My one indulgence — a square of 70 per cent dark chocolate after dinner.

4. Disconnect, not disengage: I follow cricket closely — strategies, leadership calls, and shifts in momentum. Helps disconnect from work without disengaging my mind. There’s much to learn from the patience the game demands.

5. Ashwagandha, magnesium: To unwind, I include magnesium and ashwagandha in my night diet, after a long stressful day. Ashwagandha helps deal with stress, calms the nervous system. Magnesium acts as a muscle relaxant to ensure improved sleep.
