CoonoorTea auctions witnessed cautious buying from internal buyers and exporters anticipating an improvement in crop arrivals in the ensuing trades.

Traders pointed out that there were better enquiries at lower levels in Sale 21 and expectations on future crop improved, thanks to summer showers in several tea growing regions.  

Global Tea Auctioneers said that sales percentage was on the higher side at 90 per cent for leaf grades out of the offered quantity of 14,37,859 kg, while it was 87 per cent in dust  at 448326 kg.

In CTC leaf, the high-priced teas were generally lower by Rs4 to 5 and more at times with some withdrawals. The better liquoring sorts were barely steady to occasionally easier by Rs1 to 2. The medium sorts bolder grades were lower easier by ₹1 to ₹2.

CTC dusts lower

In leaf orthodox, the primary whole leaf grades were barely steady to easier by Rs3 to 4 and occasionally some quality lots sold dearer by ₹3 to ₹4. The brokens were barely steady to lower by Rs2 to 3 with fair withdrawals.

The high priced teas in Dust CTC were lower by Rs8 to 10, better liquoring sorts were barely steady to dearer by Rs3 to 4. The better medium sorts were barely steady to occasionally dearer by ₹1 to ₹2.

The primary orthodox dust grades were lower by Rs6 to 8 and more at times with some withdrawals.
