This poem is extracted from HBO TV series: Sex and the City, Season 2, Episode 19: The Chicken Dance.
It is written by Carrie Bradshaw (the main character in the series) to bless a new couple in their wedding ceremony.
I do
His hello was the end of her endings
Her laugh was their first step down the aisle
His hand would be hers to hold forever
His forever was as simple as her smile
He said she was what was missing
She said instantly she knew
She was a question to be answered
And his answer was "I do"
Last year, I began to watch American TV series: CSI, CSI-NY, Desperate Housewives, Sex and the City... In my point of view, Sex and the City is the best, especially for the exploring of love and the feelings of life.
This poem may be a example. When I first heard it, I was really shocked. Then I repeated watching the scence for several times. Simple smile, simple forever, and simple love. This may be the essence of love: simple but precious. Thus I asked myself: "Where is the missing one for me? May I really answer her 'I do'?"
