Blunav, an airport operations technology company, has raised $1 million in seed funding from Piper Serica. 

The capital raised will support team expansion, product development, and the scale-up of deployments across India and international markets.

The company builds cloud-based airport operating systems that bring airport functions like flight operations, gate and bay allocations and passenger systems, among others, onto a single connected platform.  It aims to replace disconnected vendor stacks and manual processes that most airports run today with one unified real-time data layer.

Blunav’s first major deployment is at Chennai International Airport. The company said in a release that post deployment at the Chennai airport, Blunav’s Airside Management software enabled the airport to quantify a 22 per cent reduction in runway occupancy time. 

“We are building a unified Airport Operating System to simplify and modernise airport operations globally. There is a large segment of airports that has historically been underserved by existing technology solutions. Our focus is to enable these airports with scalable, accessible systems, while maintaining global standards of performance and safety,” Suseendar Marimuthu, Co-founder and CEO, Blunav, said.

Blunav is focused on scaling its platform across multiple airport environments over the next 12–24 months, with the aim of enabling a more connected, efficient, and digitally integrated aviation ecosystem
