Netradyne, NHEV tie up to deploy AI-driven safety tech ac...

AI-powered fleet safety technology firm Netradyne has partnered with the National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) to introduce an intelligence and safety layer for commercial electric vehicles operating on India's emerging e-highway network.

Under the initiative, Netradyne's artificial intelligence solutions will be deployed in phases across connected commercial vehicles on NHEV-supported corridors, Netradyne said in a statement on Tuesday.

The integration aims to provide real-time fleet visibility, predictive risk detection, driver behaviour insights, and operational monitoring for commercial EVs travelling long distances.

"As part of this framework, Netradyne's AI platform will add a critical intelligence and safety layer through driver behaviour analytics, vehicle monitoring and corridor-level operational oversight for commercial EVs operating across NHEV-enabled corridors,” it said.

NHEV, a pilot project adopted by the central government in 2024, plans to expand its e-highway network across 26 corridors by 2027.

The project is working towards developing a 5,500-kilometre nationwide network on Bharatmala & Sagarmala routes from Delhi to Kanyakumari via Mumbai and Kolkata corridors.

It is funded through a Rs 3,672 crore credit outlay from HDFC Bank.

"India's E-Highway vision is not only about the charging infrastructure layer, but also about building a connected and trusted mobility ecosystem to gain the confidence of the commercial EV and freight transport sector.

"This electronic layer will play a critical role in improving driver safety, reducing accidents, enabling predictive risk detection, and strengthening operational reliability for freight fleet operators and passengers alike," said Abhijeet Sinha, Program Director at NHEV.

Durgadutt Nedungadi, Senior Vice President (EMEA & APAC Business) at Netradyne, said the collaboration will help reduce road risk and make long-haul EV operations safer and more reliable.

Founded in 2015, Netradyne is headquartered in San Diego with offices in San Francisco, Nashville, and Bangalore. Over 70 per cent of Netradyne's employees are based in India.
