The I&B Ministry announced the appointment of Shashi Shekhar Vempati as the Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). He will hold office for three years.
This comes as former CBFC’s chief Prasoon Joshi took over the position of Chairperson at Prasar Bharati.
“Shashi Shekhar Vempati brings with him extensive experience in media, broadcasting, and public communication. His appointment is expected to further strengthen the functioning of the CBFC,” the statement added.
He served as CEO of Prasar Bharati from 2017-22.
