Renisha Chainani, head of Research at Augmont, writes - Precious Metals pressured by geopolitical tensions and higher rates
· Safe-Haven Dynamics – Gold traded below $4,600 and Silver below $73, both near one-month lows, as stalled US-Iran negotiations and the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz heightened inflation concerns. Higher energy prices, a strengthening dollar, elevated inflation expectations, and a persistent higher-for-longer interest rate outlook have collectively tightened short-term conditions for precious metals.
· Geopolitical Developments - President Trump confirmed that Iran has formally requested the US lift its naval blockade while conflict resolution talks remain ongoing. The closure has disrupted roughly 20% of global oil supply — a shock the IEA classified as the largest on record — directly tightening Middle East energy flows and amplifying inflationary pressure across markets
· Macro-economic Signals – Markets are increasingly pricing in the likelihood that major central banks will maintain or further raise interest rates, a scenario that structurally weakens the case for non-yielding assets like gold and silver. The BOJ held its policy rate steady earlier this week, while the US Fed, ECB, Bank of England, and Bank of Canada are all scheduled to deliver their rate decisions in the coming days.
Technical Triggers
· Gold has broken important support of $4650 (~ Rs 151,000), next target is $4550 (~ Rs 147,500).
· Silver is on the verge of breaking $73 (~ Rs 235,000), if prices sustain below this level, next target is $70 (~ Rs 225,000).

Despite high competitive intensity, Eternal reported further improvement in Q/C profitability, which is commendable
Growth was modest, partly reflecting seasonality, but mgmt has guided for c60% CAGR over 3Y, retaining 5-6% EBITDA margin.
Food delivery saw no impact from gas shortages and delivered a strong NOV, with an equally positive outlook.

Q4 indicate Blinkit’s underlying NOV growth is closer to mid-teens qoq, rather than high-single digits, and quick commerce margins can expand despite elevated competition.
Additionally, food delivery growth continues to accelerate; see these as positive near-term drivers of stock price
Expect Blinkit’s June ‘27 NOV growth to accelerate to 15% qoq (80% YoY), driven by better AOV, higher number of days, & positive impact from summer quarter; forecast EBITDA margin to further improve to +0.6% of NOV.

AUM growth picked up to 13% YoY, aided by a pickup in MFI growth.
Reported NIM improved 30bp QoQ to 6.2%, driven largely by term deposit repricing.
But, most importantly, asset quality improved meaningfully
Net slippage ratio improved 100bp QoQ to 1.9% and was half of the 2QFY26 level; this drove the sharp credit cost beat

Umesh Sharma, CIO-Debt, The Wealth Company Mutual Fund, on expectations of the FOMC
“The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is widely expected to keep policy rates unchanged at the current 3.5%–3.75% range at its April meeting, reflecting a continued “wait and see” approach amid heightened geopolitical risks and surging energy prices. Escalating tensions in the Middle East have pushed crude oil and natural gas prices higher, complicating the inflation outlook even as underlying core inflation shows signs of moderation.
While the rate decision itself appears straightforward, the tone of forward guidance will be the key market focus. Recent FOMC communications suggest a slight hawkish tilt, with policymakers emphasizing the risk that energy driven inflation could become more persistent. The March dot plot already showed a shift among members toward fewer rate cuts in 2026, even though the median projection still points to at most one cut later in the year. Notably, dissents within the Committee have increased in recent meetings(see graph below), underscoring growing differences over the timing and scale of future easing.

Market analysis by Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com
Bitcoin traded in a narrow band on April 29, holding near $76,300–$76,600, according to CoinMarketCap. The asset has struggled to reclaim momentum above the upper-$78,000 zone, keeping the broader structure range-bound. Market capitalisation remained close to $1.5 trillion, with volumes steady but not expanding meaningfully. Bitcoin dominance continued to hover near the 59–60% range. This indicates capital preference for the largest asset amid macro uncertainty.
From a technical view, support is around $75,500 to $76,000. A stronger support level is near $75,000. On the upside, resistance remains firm at $78,000–$80,000, a zone that has repeatedly capped rallies through April. A sustained move above this band would be required to confirm a breakout toward the mid-$80,000 region.
On-chain indicators remain constructive but cautious. Exchange reserves are near multi-year lows, reflecting reduced sell-side liquidity. At the same time, whale accumulation trends have stayed stable. This suggests longer-term holders are not distributing aggressively. However, realised profit-taking has increased modestly, creating overhead supply whenever Bitcoin approaches resistance levels.
Institutional flows remain mixed. ETF data shows net inflows of about $22.5 million on April 28. This comes after a sharp $263 million outflow on April 27. The swings show that institutional demand is still not stable. Even so, ETFs remain an important source of liquidity.
Macro conditions are the dominant near-term catalyst. Markets are watching the Federal Reserve decision on April 29. They are also tracking upcoming US PCE inflation and labour data.Expectations broadly point to rates being held steady, but any shift in guidance could impact liquidity-sensitive assets like crypto. Elevated oil prices and geopolitical risks are also influencing broader risk sentiment.
Among major altcoins, performance remained mixed. Ethereum traded near $2,290, XRP around $1.38, BNB close to $625, and Solana near $84, all slightly weaker on a weekly basis. Dogecoin stood out with modest gains, reflecting selective risk appetite.
Our advice: Bitcoin remains range-bound between key support near $75,000 and resistance around $80,000. Investors should avoid chasing short-term rallies and instead stagger entries during pullbacks. With the US Fed decision, inflation data, and ETF flows likely to drive volatility, disciplined position sizing and diversification are essential. Long-term investors should stay focused on quality assets rather than reacting to every intraday move.

Quote: Avinash Shekhar, Co-Founder & CEO, Pi42
“Bitcoin is hovering just above the $76,000 level as the market enters a phase of cautious consolidation following recent highs. The price action reflects softening momentum after multiple attempts to push higher, with Bitcoin struggling to sustain moves toward the $79,000 resistance zone.
At the same time, broader market sentiment has turned cautious, with fear-driven positioning emerging across crypto markets. External pressures, including weakness in the AI sector and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, have contributed to the softer tone, weighing on overall market confidence.
From a structural standpoint, Bitcoin continues to trade within a defined range, with key levels forming on both sides. Market expectations indicate a potential range between $65,000 and $79,000, suggesting that the current move is more of a consolidation phase rather than a deeper breakdown.
For investors, this phase reflects a market driven by short-term sentiment and macro cues. While volatility may persist, the broader setup indicates range-bound movement, with the next directional trend likely to emerge once momentum strengthens and key resistance levels are reclaimed.”

Review
Quote: Gaurav Udani, Founder - ThinCredBlu Securities Pvt. Ltd
Nifty is expected to open flat to slightly positive around 24,000, up nearly 10 points, indicating a muted start to the session.
The index continues to trade near a crucial support zone, and price action around current levels will be important for near-term direction. 23,900–24,000 remains immediate support, while 24,200–24,300 continues to act as the key resistance zone.
The market setup remains range-bound, with traders likely to wait for a breakout on either side before taking aggressive positions.
A sustained move above resistance could revive momentum, while a break below support may invite fresh selling pressure.
For now, the approach should remain cautious and level-based, with focus on confirmation rather than anticipation.
