Manushree Saggar, Senior Vice President & Group Head, Structured Finance, ICRA Limited
“In line with ICRA’s estimates, securitisation volumes reached Rs. 2.5 trillion in FY2026, driven by sustained participation from retail NBFCs, while contribution from banks remained largely muted. Though the overall securitisation volume growth was small at 4% in FY2026, securitisation volumes of retail non-banks rose by a robust 26%. ICRA expects NBFCs to remain growth drivers, going forward as well.
As for asset classes, loan securitisation by microfinance lenders witnessed a good recovery in FY2026 while the share of other key asset classes, including commercial vehicles and mortgage loans, remained range-bound vis‑à‑vis FY2025. Even though the operating environment remains cautious, NBFCs are expected to continue with the growth momentum in FY2027 and securitisation would remain an important tool for meeting incremental funding requirements. In this backdrop, ICRA expects retail securitisation volumes to grow by 15-20% in FY2027.”

VT Markets’ Ross Maxwell: Gold likely to stay volatile and range-bound, balancing fragile US-Iran ceasefire and inflation data; lasting direction depends on clarity in geopolitics and Fed policy
Ross Maxwell, Global Strategy Operations Lead, VT Markets
Gold prices often react to increases or decreases in geopolitical risk, so a credible US–Iran ceasefire would reduce safe-haven demand. When tensions ease, investors tend to rotate toward riskier assets like equities, which can put mild downward pressure on gold. However, the current ceasefire is only a short-term, temporary ceasefire, with claims from both sides that it has been violated already, amid confusion over whether Lebanon is included in the ceasefire agreement. It is very fragile and the markets could doubt its durability, meaning gold could remain supported by cautious investors.
A hotter-than-expected inflation reading could reinforce expectations that rates will stay higher for longer or even prompt further tightening, which typically weighs on gold because higher yields increase the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets. The impact of higher energy prices are still yet to be seen, so any indications this is starting to feed through into the data could lead to action from the FED. However, if the reading is cooler than expected this would ease pressure on the FED and potentially support gold prices.
In the short term, gold is likely to remain range-bound, balancing geopolitical developments and monetary policy signals. If inflation surprises on the upside and the ceasefire hold with geopolitical risks fading, prices could drift lower. If the ceasefire breaks or there is no permanent solution and inflation cools, gold may edge higher. We can expect to see continued short-term volatility rather than a strong directional move in the near term, until we see some clarity and a more stable outlook.

Agnam Advisor’s Prashant Mishra: Markets driven by global headlines and oil prices, but India’s stable fundamentals should limit duration of corrections
Prashant Mishra, Founder and CEO, Agnam Advisor
Right now, markets are reacting more to global headlines than to underlying fundamentals. However, India’s domestic fundamentals remain relatively stable, which suggests that while corrections may be sharp, they are unlikely to be prolonged.

Augmont: Gold, silver rally on fragile ceasefire; technicals target $5,000 for gold, $87 for silver
Renisha Chainani, head of research at Augmont, writes -Precious Metals caught between ceasefire optimism and escalating regional risks
•\u0009Safe-Haven Dynamics – Gold and silver recovered from recent lows following a US-Iran ceasefire brokered by Pakistan. However, the relief is fragile — Markets remain cautious, with analysts warning that the ceasefire has too many unresolved variables to sustain a durable rally. The recovery in Gold and Silver may prove short-lived if tensions re-escalate.
•\u0009Geopolitical Developments - Despite the US-Iran truce, geopolitical risk remains elevated. Israeli strikes on Lebanon have raised serious concerns about ceasefire stability. Iran’s Fars news agency reported a temporary halt in tanker movement through the Strait of Hormuz following the strikes — a critical chokepoint for global energy supply.
•\u0009Macro-economic Signals – FOMC March meeting minutes revealed that policymakers are increasingly concerned that prolonged Middle East conflict could sustain inflationary pressures, potentially requiring additional rate hikes. Despite this hawkish undertone, the Fed still pencils in one rate cut this year — leaving markets in a wait-and-watch mode on both inflation trajectory and geopolitical outcome.
Technical Triggers\u0009
•\u0009Gold has given a breakout above $4,800 (~ ₹1,53,000), signaling bullish momentum. The next upside target is $5,000 (~ ₹1,59,000).
•\u0009Silver has given a bullish breakout above $76.50 (~ ₹2,43,000), with targets at $82 (~ ₹2,55,000) and $87 (~ ₹2,65,000) on continued strength

Bajaj Finserv AMC’s Siddharth Chaudhary: RBI holds repo rate at 5.25%, signals balanced stance amid global risks; warns sustained crude oil shock could pressure inflation and growth
Siddharth Chaudhary, Head – Fixed Income, Bajaj Finserv AMC .
“The RBI has kept the repo rate unchanged at 5.25%, balancing growth support with mounting external risks following the Iran war. While it has reaffirmed FY26 growth at 7.6%, the outlook for FY27 has been tempered to 6.9%, reflecting rising global and geopolitical uncertainties. Elevated crude oil prices remain the key risk, given India’s heavy import dependence, with a sustained oil shock likely to pressure inflation, the rupee and the current account, and potentially shave 50–60 bps off growth. For now, the RBI’s projection of 6.9% growth and 4.6% inflation for the coming year signals a cautiously balanced policy stance, though prolonged conflict could force upward revisions to inflation and a weaker growth trajectory.”

Bitcoin holds range near $71,000; macro cues to drive next move
Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com
April 9, 2026
Bitcoin is trading around $70,800-$71,100 on April 9 and the asset briefly touched an intraday high near $72,700 and a low around $70,500. This keeps Bitcoin within the same $70,000-$73,000 band that has defined price action through early April. There seems to be no decisive breakout.
The structure remains technically balanced. Immediate support is visible at $70,000 and there is a deeper support zone between $67,700 and $68,900. This aligns with the April 7 lows. On the upside, resistance sits at $72,700-$73,000, which corresponds to the recent rejection zone. Beyond that, the broader overhead supply band extends toward $78,000-$79,000. This level is associated with equilibrium pricing in on-chain models such as the ‘true market mean.’
On-chain data does not confirm a full expansion phase. Roughly 60-61% of circulating supply remains in profit, which indicates recovery but not euphoria. Realised volatility has declined to about 42-43%. This is indicative of a calmer but thinner market. At the same time, apparent demand remains negative (around -63,000 BTC on a 30-day basis). This means, the underlying spot demand has not fully returned despite the price recovery. Bitcoin also continues to trade below its broader equilibrium band near $79,000, while the deeper cost basis floor remains closer to $54,000-$55,000.
Institutional flows reflect the same hesitation. Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw large inflows of about $471 million on April 6, but this was followed by outflows of roughly $159 million on April 7 and $165 million on April 8. Across the sessions leading into April 9, flows remain net positive but inconsistent. This indicates selective allocation rather than sustained accumulation.
Macro conditions are now the dominant driver. The U.S. March CPI print due on April 10 is the immediate trigger. Expectations are clustered around 3.1% year-on-year inflation and elevated monthly readings due to energy prices. The April 28-29 Federal Reserve meeting will follow. Inflation expectations have already moved higher, with 1-year expectations rising to about 3.4%. This matters because a delayed rate-cut cycle tightens liquidity conditions for risk assets, including crypto.
Altcoins are underperforming Bitcoin. This also reinforces the absence of broad risk appetite. As of April 9, Ethereum (approx $2,180) is down about 2.2%, BNB ($602) down 2.1%, XRP ($1.33) down 2.7%, Solana ($82) down 2.7%, and Dogecoin ($0.092) down 2.8% over 24 hours. The dispersion shows selective positioning rather than a market-wide rotation. The overall read is clear. This is a macro-driven stabilisation phase, not a confirmed uptrend. Price is holding key levels, but flows, demand, and altcoin breadth do not yet support a sustained expansion. The next directional move will likely be determined by inflation data and rate expectations rather than crypto-native catalysts.
Our advice: ETF flows remain inconsistent, and altcoins are not confirming broad risk appetite. Investors should avoid aggressive positioning ahead of the U.S. CPI data on April 10 and the evolving rate outlook. A prudent approach is to accumulate gradually near support levels while keeping strict downside risk controls below the $68,000 zone.

“Strait of Hormuz key to ceasefire: JD Vance says President won’t abide by terms if it stays closed”
As Iran accused Israel of breaking the temporary ceasefire terms, US Vice President JD Vance reiterated Washington’s stance that Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire deal and warned that President Donald Trump “will not abide by the terms” if Tehran doesn’t reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Speaking with the reporters outside of Air Force Two as he left Hungary, Vance said, “We are seeing signs that the Straits are starting to reopen... The deal is a ceasefire, a negotiation -- that’s what we give -- and what they give is that the Straits are going to be reopened. If we don’t see that happening, the President is not going to abide by our terms if the Iranians are not abiding by their terms.”
“The Iranians thought that the ceasefire included Lebanon, and it just didn’t. We never made that promise. We never indicated that was going to be the case,” he added. - ANI
