KRAFTON India, the Indian subsidiary of South Korean gaming giant KRAFTON on Friday announced the launch of the third cohort of its KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator (KIGI).

The incubation programme aims to help Indian studios build globally competitive games by strengthening their production capabilities, refining go-to-market strategies, and supporting the launch readiness of their titles. It has to date incubated 10 studios in the previous two cycles of the programme .

For the third cohort, KIGI received 900 applications from across the country out of which four emerging game development studios have been selected. These studios receive a financial grant in the range of $50,000 to $150,000 and also 6-12 months of mentorship from KRAFTON’s global network of game development and other adjacent teams.

Speaking to businessline, Anuj Sahani, Head - KIGI and Director of Publishing, KRAFTON India said in addition to the financial assistance as part of the incubation programme, KRAFTON may also look at picking up equity stakes in some of the promising studios. The company had last year announced plans to invest $150-$200 million in Indian gaming and aligned companies.

Meanwhile, he added that the programme has seen strong traction in Tamil Nadu with about 100-150 of the applications coming from the State.

Sahani was speaking at the India Gaming Show (IGS) 2026 organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).The event also saw the launch of Frontier Paladin, the first PC game to emerge from the incubator, set to release later this month.
