With a young, rapidly urbanising demographic, Zambia represents a high-potential market for efficient mobility.

TVS Motor Company on Monday announced its foray into the the Zambian market, appointing Zamoto Manufacturing Ltd as its official distributor.

The entry into Zambia is a strategic move to bolster its African footprint and Zamoto Manufacturing will be responsible for sales, service, and spare parts network across the country, TVS Motor Company said in a regulatory filing.

With a young, rapidly urbanising demographic, Zambia represents a high-potential market for efficient mobility. The company is introducing a diverse lineup of eight products, curated to meet the specific needs of Zambian commuters and businesses, it added.

"Africa is a key driver of our international growth strategy. Our entry into Zambia is a significant leap forward, supported by a comprehensive product portfolio and a strong partner like Zamoto, we are building an ecosystem that evolves alongside the country's aspirations," TVS Motor Company President-International Business, Peyman Kargar, said.

The company's product range for Zambia comprises taxi and commercial segment featuring the TVS HLX series; personal mobility segment comprising TVS ZT 125 and TVS NTORQ 125 and premium segment offerings such as Apache RTR 180, RTR 200, and Apache RR 310 bikes.

"We see strong growth across Zambia as the demand for reliable and efficient mobility solutions is increasing steadily in commercial mobility, including taxis and last-mile delivery services. With TVSM's robust and fuel-efficient product range, combined with our deep understanding of the local market, we are well-positioned to support both commercial operators and personal mobility customers," Zamoto Manufacturing CEO Moussa Jawad said.
