Grasim Industries invests ₹2,880 crore to increase stake ...

Grasim Industries has increased its stake in Aditya Birla Capital marginally with an investment of ₹2,879 crore.

The company has increased its stake to 52.30 per cent from 52.27 per cent by participating in the preferential issue on June 23, said Aditya Birla Capital in a regulatory filing.

Grasim was allotted 8.09 crore equity shares of Aditya Birla Capital at a price of ₹356 per share, including a premium of ₹346 per share.

Aditya Birla Capital operates as a non-banking financial company and recorded a consolidated turnover of ₹45,509 crore in FY26. The company reported a consolidated turnover of ₹40,590 crore in FY25 and ₹33,941 crore in FY24.

Other allotments

Similarly, Aditya Birla Capital allotted 56.18 lakh equity shares to Suryaja Investments Pte Ltd, Singapore (an Aditya Birla Group entity and promoter group of the company), at ₹356 per share. The total investment was about ₹200 crore.

International Finance Corporation also acquired about 2.58 crore equity shares at ₹356 a piece aggregating to investment of over ₹919 crore.

Consequent to the above allotment, the paid-up equity share capital of Aditya Birla Capital will increase from ₹2,622 crore to ₹2,734 crore, it said.
