Global filtration company MANN+HUMMEL expects double-digit growth in India across sectors and plans to expand its workforce over the next three to four years, as it deepens investments in local manufacturing and R&D capabilities.

The company on Wednesday inaugurated its global Technology and Innovation Centre in Tumakuru, Karnataka, positioning India as a key pillar in its global research and development network.

Speaking to businessline, Sudeesh Karimbingal, Managing Director, MANN+HUMMEL India, said the company sees India playing an increasingly strategic role, both as a manufacturing hub and as a centre for product development.

“With the new lab and innovation centre, we expect to increase our headcount over the next three to four years,” Karimbingal said. He added that evolving customer requirements and the rapid introduction of new products in India are driving the need for deeper localisation.

Speaking at the launch event, Hasmeet Kaur, President Transportation Division MANN+HUMMEL group said the new centre highlights the growing importance of India within MANN+HUMMEL’s global innovation ecosystem and strengthens Tumakuru’s position as an emerging industrial and manufacturing hub.

The facility will focus on developing filtration and mobility solutions suited to Indian operating conditions while working closely with customers.

The company currently operates manufacturing plants in Bawal and Tumakuru and is also expanding with a new facility in Pune. Officials said India’s pace of industrial growth and execution is faster than several Western markets, making the country an increasingly attractive base for both manufacturing and advanced engineering capabilities.
