Syngene International Limited reported a 13% year-on-year (y-o-y) decline in profit after tax (PAT) to ₹153 crore, with the drop largely driven by exceptional and one-off items during the quarter.

The company recognised ₹25 crore (net of tax) as exceptional expenses related to employee termination benefits, which weighed on profitability.

For the fourth quarter of FY26, Syngene reported revenue of ₹1,037 crore, up 2% year-on-year.

Executive Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said, “While biotech funding remains discerning and largely concentrated on late-stage assets, Syngene’s diversified end-to-end business model—from discovery and development to manufacturing—gives us both resilience and strategic agility in navigating these market realities. We are also focused on building new business lines, strengthening our differentiated service offerings, and investing in AI and digital capabilities that will enhance speed, productivity, and value creation for our clients.”

Managing Director and CEO Peter Bains said, “Syngene’s full-year revenue from operations grew 3%, and with an EBITDA margin of 25%, performance was in line with our revised full-year guidance. The overall numbers reflect the specific impact from a single large-molecule biologics client, with the underlying business showing steady momentum.

During the year, the company continued to invest in new capabilities and emerging modalities such as peptides and ADCs, further strengthening our integrated offering and positioning us for long-term growth.

Shaw has also transitioned from Non-Executive Chairperson to Executive Chairperson effective April 1, 2026, for a five-year term.

The company has also appointed Siddharth Mittal as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2026, for a five-year term, succeeding Bains. Mittal joins from Biocon Limited, where he served as Managing Director and CEO.
