Intel has appointed Aparna Bawa as executive vice president and chief legal & people officer, bringing a seasoned technology industry leader into its executive ranks as the company continues a broad transformation under CEO Lip-Bu Tan. Bawa will report directly to Tan and oversee Intel’s global legal, ethics, compliance, people, and culture organizations.
The appointment signals Intel’s focus on strengthening governance and organizational culture as it pushes forward with strategic and operational changes.
Intel said Bawa will play a key role in supporting its execution agenda while helping drive cultural and organizational change across the company. Her responsibilities will also span legal operations, corporate governance, compliance, and workforce strategy as Intel aims to build what it describes as a more agile and performance-driven organization.
“The role of legal and people leadership has never been more critical as Intel drives cultural transformation with discipline, speed, and integrity,” said Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan. “Aparna brings a rare combination of operational rigor, business judgment, and people-first leadership. Her experience helping scale global technology companies through periods of significant change will be invaluable as we build a stronger, more agile Intel.”
Bawa joins Intel from Zoom, where she served as chief operating officer and oversaw major operational, legal, and people functions during the company’s rapid global expansion.
Before joining Zoom, Bawa held senior legal and leadership roles across the technology sector, building expertise in corporate governance, global compliance, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational transformation.
At Intel, she will focus on reinforcing the company’s legal and compliance foundation while aligning its people strategy with long-term business priorities. The company said she will also help shape Intel’s leadership culture and talent strategy as it enters its next phase of development.

Bawa will join Intel in May, underscoring the company’s continued emphasis on leadership accountability and operational execution.
