The Dunhuang Art Show is held in China Art Gallary.  March 8th, Women's Day, the Dunhuang Art Show is free for woman, I and my mate went to see the show.
As is well known, dunhuang is famous of its Grotto and Fresco Art, it is the legacy of the world's culture. The show displayed some reproducing of the most famous frescos and staturies. The topic of the most grottos and frescos is Buddhism story, we had little knowledge about it, we focused on the paint art of the show. When we carefully watched the arts, we wondered at the greatest art of paint. It is so exciting that we regretted we had not much background knowledge about the Buddhism story. If we knew, the show would more interesting and instructive.We stopped in front of every fresco and statury, enjoying the detail of the art.
The fresco can be sorted to 5 classes.
1.Buddhism Story
The frescos are emanated from the Buddhism sutra. Such as Xiangmo Jingbian, Subdue evils change, nirvana change, Watch Wuliangkshou change, West cleaning earth change, Fahua change... The frescos are very huge size drawing, they had cleaning story details, cleaning main and subordination, and complete beginning and end.
2.Original life
The original life frescos described the stories of disgrace enduring and sacrifice, teaching human of before lives of Sakyamuni. The main stories included nine color deer story, prince feed tigers with his own meat, 500 dandits, King Shipi cut his own meet to change doves with hawk...The frescos could be one detail of a story, full story with begin and end, continuing picture of a story which is include when, where, who.
3.Karma story
The Karam story frescos told the guiding human story of Sakymuni. These frescos included little monk suicide due to stain, guiding the evil bull.. The frescos were main constructed in single paint or continuing paint.
4.Sakyamuni's Story
The Sakyamuni's story described the whole life of his embryo, burn, growing, becoming a monk, cultivating, realizing melod, subdue evils, becoming Buddha, nirvana. These frescos are continuing paint of the apotheosis of Sakyamuni's biography. The representive frescos included being a embryo by an elephant, fleed from city in middle night...
5.History of Buddism
The frescos were drawing of the history of Buddism's spreading and Buddism history, which included the history people, the history affairs, the legacy. The famous stories included Zhangqian Went to Xiyu...
