SASTRA University signed an MoU with Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU) to facilitate academic collaboration between the two institutions. The partnership aims to expand opportunities for student and faculty exchanges while promoting Indo-Japanese ties through a range of joint initiatives, says a release from SASTRA University.
The MoU was signed by SASTRA Vice-Chancellor S. Vaidhyasubramaniam and OMU President Prof. Hiroyuki Sakuragi.
Vaidhyasubramaniam said, this MoU is a significant step towards strengthening the Indo-Japan relationship and comes at an opportune time, with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi scheduled to visit India next week for bilateral talks.
Prof. Sakuragi also expressed OMU’s strong commitment to working closely with India, and SASTRA in particular, across areas of mutual interest.
The agreement adds OMU to SASTRA’s existing partnerships with five Japanese universities: the University of Tokyo, Hiroshima University, Tokyo City University, Shimane University, and the University of Tsukuba, the release said.
