

























Schaeffler India opens new facility at IISC
Motion technology company Schaeffler India announced the opening of a computational research facility in FSID (Foundation of Science Innovation and Development) in IISC Bengaluru.
This facility allows for HPC (High Performance Computing), which will use analytics, simulations and modelling to aid in research. They plan to expand the facility by acquiring lab space, power backup, in-rack cooling systems and clusters (hybrid computing workstations).
This facility, the company says, will help UG, PG, PHD students, faculty members, FSID incubated start-ups, external start-ups and MSMEs.
Professor B Gurumoorthy, Director of FSID, commended this initiative by the company and looks forward to further collaborations with the company.
The company has also signed an MRA (Master research agreement) with IISC, allowing the facility to be used in future projectsl.
Harsh Kadam, CEO and MD of Schaeffler India, said, “This collaboration with Schaeffler India marks an important step in enhancing FSID’s capabilities in high-end simulations, data-intensive research, and next-generation technology development. We see this as a strong example of how industry-academia partnerships can accelerate research and innovation with real-world relevance”.
