The Ministry of Communications has nominated Advocate CA Harsh Girish Patel, founder and Global CEO of Water & Shark, as a Member of the Telecom Advisory Committee, which advises on regulatory frameworks and strategic direction for telecom sector.
Patel is a practising Advocate and Chartered Accountant who founded Water & Shark at the age of 19. His firm operates across multiple jurisdictions, advising royal families, sovereign offices, unicorns, and global enterprises on cross-border structuring, taxation, family office advisory and legal strategy.
Patel said India stands at a pivotal moment in its digital journey, right from 5G rollout to the frontier of 6G research, from Digital India to becoming a global hub for technology investment.
“I intend to bring the full weight of my international legal experience and my understanding of global regulatory frameworks to this role, with the singular objective of strengthening India’s position on the world stage,” he said.
His nomination comes at a time when India is rapidly emerging as a global leader in digital infrastructure, with the world’s lowest data costs, a thriving startup ecosystem, and ambitious plans for 6G leadership.
Patel’s expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments across jurisdictions positions him uniquely to contribute to India’s telecom policy evolution.
