Global dental player, Align Technology, will be investing ₹1,800 Crore in Telangana to set up the company’s first manufacturing site in India.
The proposed manufacturing facility, which will be the fourth for Align Technology globally, is expected to create more than 300 direct jobs over the next several years.
A MoU in this regard was signed by Jitse Marree, Senior Vice President, Align Technology and Sarvesh Singh, CEO, Telangana Life Sciences, according to a release.
The upcoming facility has the potential to become a key global manufacturing and operations hub and contribute significantly to the company’s worldwide production capacity of nearly ten lakh unique clear aligner parts per day. Enabled by large-scale 3D printing, advanced manufacturing systems, and sophisticated digital technologies, the facility is expected to add substantial strategic value to Telangana’s rapidly growing MedTech and precision manufacturing ecosystem.
“Align Technology’s decision to plan its India manufacturing presence in Telangana reflects the growing global confidence in our state’s strengths across MedTech, life sciences, precision manufacturing, and healthcare innovation,’’ Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, Industries & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs, said in a release on Thursday.
The Hyderabad facility is expected to commence operations in 2027. The proposed facility will complement Align Technology’s existing presence in Hyderabad, which includes its GCC, the Align Innovation Centre (AIC), further expanding the company’s footprint in the city.
The investment is expected to further accelerate Hyderabad’s emergence as a global hub for MedTech, precision healthcare manufacturing, and advanced engineering-driven industries. It also reinforces the state’s growing reputation as a preferred destination for high-value global investments across life sciences, medical devices, biotechnology, and next-generation healthcare technologies.
