In a move that could bring relief to retired State government employees in Telangana, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to clear pending retirement benefits worth ₹6,000 crore over the next 100 days.
Reddy, who held talks with representatives of employees, also asked the pay revision panel for government staff to submit its report at the earliest.
Stating that the State’s revenues, including GST collections, were on the rise, the Chief Minister said the government would be in a position to consider other demands of employees from time to time.
Health cards enabling free medical treatment for all government employees will also be issued by June, he said.
Many pending demands of the employees were addressed already after the Congress Government assumed power in 2023. There were no pending bills of the employees at the time of the formation of Telangana in 2014 and all the dues got accumulated during the previous BRS Government in the State, Reddy said.
