The Karnataka Cabinet has given approval for the establishment of a Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Biotechnology (AI-CoE) at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB) in Electronic City, Bengaluru.
The Centre will be set up over a 4-year-period in partnership with IBAB and the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms, with a total outlay amounting to ₹20 crore.
The state cabinet has also granted administrative approval for the construction of a new administrative building for the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) in Kalaburagi at an estimated cost of ₹20 crore. The proposed structure will also include a commercial complex, district in-charge minister Priyank Kharge said.
In a separate decision, the cabinet has approved the detailed project report for repair works of the Hattikuni canal cluster project in Yadgir district, with an outlay of ₹72 crore. This comes following the lack of repair works over the last five decades.
The proposed restoration aims to improve water supply and ensure irrigation reaches tail-end villages such as Alabur, Badarli, Giniwar, Hartanur and Vengalapur, the minister added.
