Tamil Nadu Finance Minister N. Marie Wilson on Wednesday released the Annual Credit Plan (ACP) for FY 2026–27, which envisions a credit outlay of ₹10.98 lakh crore for Tamil Nadu. This was done at the 186th State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting held on Wednesday.

The credit outlay, which represents a growth of around 12% over the target of the previous year, is allocated to Agri (₹6.5 lakh crore), MSME (₹3.97 lakh crore), and other priority sectors.

The Finance Minister said that the state’s banking fraternity beat the FY26 target of ₹9 lakh crore, with Tamil Nadu’s banking sector achieving credit disbursements of ₹9.80 lakh crore and 109% of the annual target.

At the event, convened by the Indian Overseas Bank, the FM Wilson appreciated the banking fraternity for their performance and expressed confidence that the ACP target set for the next fiscal year will also be surpassed.

He also emphasised the importance of educational loans in supporting students’ future, and simultaneously investing in human capital.

The General Manager of Indian Overseas Bank, Vijaya N., presented the agenda for the meeting. The other dignitaries present were M A Siddique, chief secretary of Tamil Nadu’s finance department, Dhanaraj T, Executive Director of Indian Overseas Bank and the Chairman of SLBC, and Rakesh Srivastava, Chief General Manager, RBI, among others.
