Adani Group and US-based manufacturing services major Jabil Inc on Monday announced plans to form a strategic alliance to build a large-scale artificial intelligence and data centre infrastructure manufacturing platform in India.
The proposed alliance seeks to combine Adani Group’s infrastructure, energy, logistics and data centre capabilities with Jabil’s engineering and manufacturing expertise to create a vertically integrated ecosystem for producing AI-ready data centre hardware in India, stated an official release here. The companies said they are working on definitive operational frameworks and final documentation for the partnership.
A key focus of the initiative will be the development of “multi-gigawatt” manufacturing capacity for high-density AI racks and associated computing infrastructure. The platform is expected to manufacture next-generation liquid-cooled AI racks, servers, storage systems and networking equipment used by hyperscale data centres, co-location operators and enterprise customers.
The alliance also plans to manufacture a range of supporting infrastructure equipment required inside modern AI data centres, including power distribution units (PDUs), coolant distribution units (CDUs), transformers, switchgears, bus bars and thermal management systems.
Commenting on the partnership, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said the next phase of global competition would be shaped by the convergence of energy and computing infrastructure, adding that India was well positioned to emerge as a major player in the AI economy. “The world is entering an Intelligence Revolution more profound than any previous Industrial Revolution. Nations that master the symmetry between energy and compute will shape the next decade,” Adani said.
Jabil Chief Executive Officer Mike Dastoor said the collaboration would allow the company to combine its manufacturing expertise with Adani’s infrastructure platform to serve hyperscale and enterprise customers in India and overseas.
