Regaal Resources Ltd, a maize processing company, has commissioned its expanded maize processing facility at Kishanganj in Bihar.
Built with an investment of approximately ₹389 crore, the expansion strengthens its production capabilities across value-added maize products and specialty derivatives.
The expansion includes an increase in the integrated maize wet milling facility’s crushing capacity from 825 tonnes per day to 1,650 tonnes per day, along with the commissioning of a new liquid glucose manufacturing facility with a production capacity of 180 tonnes per day and a Maltodextrin powder manufacturing facility with a production capacity of 50 tonnes per day.
Creating additional employment
A media statement said the project has been established to strengthen production capabilities, improve supply chain efficiencies, and cater to growing demand from industries, including food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, textiles, healthcare, animal nutrition, and industrial applications.
It said that the project is expected to create around 475 additional direct employment opportunities, increasing the company’s total workforce to nearly 950 employees, while also generating significant indirect employment opportunities across logistics, warehousing, transportation, procurement, contractual labour, and associated services.
Additionally, the expansion is expected to support thousands of farmers by strengthening local sourcing networks and improving access to organised procurement channels.
Quoting Anil Kishorepuria, Chairman and Managing Director of Regaal Resources Ltd, the statement said: “The commissioning of our expanded crushing capacity to 1,650 tonnes per day and new derivative manufacturing facilities for liquid glucose of 180 tonnes per day and Maltodextrin Powder of 50 tonnes per day marks a significant milestone in Regaal’s journey towards becoming a diversified maize-based specialty products company. This expansion strengthens our presence in higher value-added maize derivative products and enhances our ability to cater to evolving customer requirements across the food, pharmaceutical, agriculture, and healthcare sectors.”
The statement said that the company also plans to further strengthen its value-added product portfolio through expansion into products, including Dextrose Anhydrous, Dextrose Monohydrate, Hydrol, and a range of modified starch products, with commissioning expected during FY27.
