Leading AI and technology transformation solutions company UST has signed an MoU with iHUB DivyaSampark, technology innovation hub at IIT Roorkee and a joint initiative of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) to accelerate development in engineering R&D and deep‑tech innovation.
The MoU was exchanged at UST campus here between Manish Anand, CEO, iHUB-IIT Roorkee, and Dileep Sivan Pillai, Vice-President and Head of India Business, UST, in the presence of senior leaders from both organisations. UST has signed similar MoUs in the past with BITS Pilani, IIT Madras, Western Sydney University and T-Works.
High-impact solutions
The latest in the series of the MoUs aims to create scalable, high-impact solutions by combining UST’s expertise in embedded hardware, firmware engineering, cloud platforms, AI/ML and data science with iHUB DivyaSampark’s strong research, innovation, and start-up ecosystem, a UST spokesperson said.
Cyber-physical systems
They will jointly work on next-gen technologies and solutions across critical domains, including cyber-physical systems, advanced digital engineering, and AI-driven applications. They will also develop customised solutions designed to meet operational and on-ground requirements for clients in India. They will facilitate joint research and development, technology transfer, and commercialisation of solutions to drive real-world impact.
Pivotal step
Alexander Varghese, President, UST, said this collaboration represents a pivotal step in advancing engineering R&D and deep-tech innovation in India. “We will create a powerful platform to co-develop solutions that address complex, real-world challenges. Together, we aim to accelerate innovation and deliver scalable, high-impact solutions that drive meaningful and lasting change,” he added.
Manish Anand, Chief Executive Officer, iHUB-IIT Roorkee, said the collaboration will bring together academia, research, and industry to address critical challenges in the business. “We will leverage iHUB DivyaSampark’s focus on cyber-physical systems and innovation and UST’s global technology expertise to develop advanced, application-oriented solutions.”
