Restaurants and multiplexes are trying to lure cricket buffs from their sofas and couches on Super Sunday going all out to organize screening parties for the Royal Challengers versus Gujarat Titans IPL 2026 final clash.

PVR INOX is screening the final match of IPL at over 100 screens across the country. The chain said that audiences will be able to watch the live match in high-definition on giant cinema screens with advanced surround sound and specially designed snack combos and cricket-viewing favourites for an enhanced match-day experience.

Interest is high, says Gautam Dutta, CEO – Revenue & Operations, PVR INOX Ltd. “We have seen very strong advanced booking trends for the final match. We anticipate occupancies to be over 80 per cent with many screens expected to be sold out.”

Sixes and snacks

Restaurants , pubs, food delivery and quick commerce platforms are all in on the cricket party doling out special offers. Restaurateurs said they anticipate higher footfalls on May 31 compared to average Sunday demand trends.

Divya Aggarwal, Chief Growth Officer at Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt Ltd, behind brands such as SOCIAL and Smoke House Delhi, said curated ordering options will be available.

“We are expecting a 5- 10 per cent increase in footfalls on Sunday. Cricket is a shared emotion. Fans not only look for a place to watch the game, they also seek the energy of being surrounded by other fans to feel that they are part of something larger,” she added.

A senior restaurant executive said that over the years, the T20 league has emerged as a key consumption occasion for food aggregator platforms led by QSR brands that see higher number of delivery orders.

Fans and flights

Meanwhile, Akasa Air said that it has ramped up connectivity to Ahmedabad with special flights from Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai on May 31 and June 1, in addition to its scheduled direct services from nine domestic and international destinations.

“The additional flights provide cricket fans with the most convenient flights options to and from Ahmedabad, ahead of the much-anticipated final cricket match scheduled in the city,” it added. Also, Western Railway has introduced two special-fare trains between Mumbai and Ahmedabad in response to higher demand from passengers ahead of the finals.
