Telangana is firmly positioning itself as a national leader in aerospace and defence manufacturing to emerge as country’s Aerospace and Defence Capital by 2030, according N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Telangana Minister for Irrigation, Food & Civil Supplies.
He was speaking at a seminar on “MSME Spark 3.0 – Aerospace & Defence Manufacturing” organised by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), in association with the Telangana Department of Industries & Commerce here on Friday.
The aerospace and defence were among the priority sectors identified by the Telangana Government under its industrial policy framework, Reddy said. Nearly 1,500 MSMEs in Telangana are currently part of the aerospace and defence supply chain ecosystem, he added.
G Satheesh Reddy, Member, National Security Advisory Board said the conclave was being held at a significant time coinciding with the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, which demonstrated to the world the strength of India’s indigenously developed defence systems, arms, ammunition, and advanced technologies.
MSME Spark 3.0
R Ravi Kumar, President, FTCCI, said the MSME Spark 3.0 was an indication of FTCCI’s commitment to strengthening MSMEs by connecting them with emerging opportunities in aerospace and defence manufacturing. India’s journey towards Atmanirbhar Bharat in defence is creating unprecedented opportunities for industry, start-ups, and innovators, and Telangana was well-positioned to lead this transformation with its strong industrial ecosystem, progressive policies, and skilled talent base, he added.
P Krishna, Chairman, Industrial Development Committee, FTCCI, said India’s aerospace and defence sector was entering a transformational phase, creating significant opportunities for MSMEs, start-ups, and innovators.
The conclave brought together over 400 policymakers, defence experts, industry leaders, innovators, investors, start-ups, and MSMEs to deliberate on emerging opportunities in India’s rapidly expanding aerospace and defence manufacturing ecosystem.
