ensex Today, Nifty 50 | Stock Market Highlights - Find here all the highlights related to Sensex, Nifty, BSE, NSE, share prices and Indian stock markets for 15th June 2026.

Indian stock market extended sharp gains on Monday with both benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty gaining over a per cent each. The rally came on the back of the Iran-US peace deal and slipping oil prices.

BSE Sensex settled 736.38 pts or 0.97% positive at 76,264.33, and Nifty 50 ended 231 pts or 0.98% at 23,853.90.

Broader markets outperformed benchmarks, with Nifty Midcap and Smallcap indices rising about 1.5% each. Realty, cement, auto and financials led gains, while pharma and healthcare lagged. Market breadth stayed strong with widespread advances, higher circuit hits, and selective profit booking across midcap and smallcap counters.

Analysts expect risk appetite to return across asset classes, with India likely to see a recovery after recent underperformance.

The RBI’s forex swap facilities for external commercial borrowings and FCNR(B) deposits are expected to support liquidity and foreign currency inflows. Asian markets also opened higher, reflecting improved sentiment.

However, investors will watch the formal signing of the deal, reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and foreign institutional investor flows.

The rupee rose 47 paise to settle at 94.71 (provisional) against the US dollar on Monday as global crude oil prices dropped sharply after US President Donald Trump announced that the US and Iran finalised a deal to end the war.

Meanwhile, higher CPI inflation at 3.9% remains a key factor for future RBI policy decisions.

Nifty rallied +2% and Brent eased -4% as the US and Iran agreed on a peace deal, set to be signed on Friday, 19-Jun-26. We see crude settling at USD75-80/bbl, and this is unambiguously positive for India on external account, domestic liquidity, and supply chain easing. We maintain our FY27 Nifty target at 29,000 and see a strong rally sustaining in the short term. Our bullishness is supported by strong earnings, with FY27E Nifty EPSg at 15.7% and moderate valuations at ~17.8x PER (1YF). OMCs, transportation, cement, and select lenders (banks/NBFCs) are the best ways to play the recovery.

In case of a successful US-Iran deal, crude oil and natural prices would ease. However, beyond the immediate price action, crude prices could take six months to one year to normalize to pre-war levels. Additionally, removal of sanctions on Iranian crude would be positive for India given the geographical proximity as well as higher credit period offered historically, if the same terms continue.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar, CEO & MD, Rassense, on the WPI Data – May 2026

The rise in WPI inflation in May 2026 is primarily due to a significant rise in food and fuel prices, worsened by supply disruptions, and persistent geopolitical conflicts impacting the agri-commodities ecosystem internationally. In particular, food inflation has remained an issue of concern given its direct impact on domestic disposable income and consumption at the household level.

The continued high level of inflation for end-consumers might result in a more conservative spending climate and an increasing share of disposable income devoted to necessities. This may have a significant impact on sectors of the economy that are dependent on consumption, while increasing costs for food service establishments, manufacturers and retailers. The prices of food items will likely be volatile in the near future, particularly in view of the El-Nino condition.

While we soak up the heat of inflation, there is a need to take a multi-dimensional approach to address the challenges of strengthening agricultural supply chains, reducing post-harvest losses, investing in food storage facilities, and developing market linkages. Concurrently, the need to adopt sustainable and tech-enabled food supply chain ecosystem is vital to enhance productivity, establish resilience and achieve long-term food security.”

Precious metals recorded a second consecutive weekly decline as May CPI threatened to breach 4%, US PPI surged 6.5% year-on-year, and the ECB raised rates for the first time since 2023. However, a US-Iran peace framework — set for formal signing in Switzerland on Friday — triggered a recovery early this week, pushing oil down over 4% and the dollar to a 10-day low. December Fed rate-hike probability has since fallen to 48% from 69%. Gold trades near $4,330, with resistance at $4,500–$4,550 and support at $4,242. Stock Market Live: Gold surges over 2% as Middle East peace deal eases inflation fears, oil drops; Fed, BOJ, BOE policy meetings in focus

Manav Modi Commodities Analyst Motilal Oswal Financial services Ltd

Gold prices surged more than 2% in early morning trade as easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East triggered a sharp decline in oil prices, reducing inflation concerns and prompting investors to reassess expectations for higher interest rates. Sentiment improved after U.S. and Iranian officials announced an interim peace framework that would halt hostilities, lift the U.S. blockade on Iran, and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global energy supplies. The agreement is expected to be formally signed in Switzerland on June 19, although several key details remain unresolved, particularly regarding Iran’s nuclear program. Reports suggest Iran could receive significant reconstruction funding, partial access to frozen assets, and relief from sanctions on its oil exports, while Hormuz is expected to reopen without tolls. The prospect of increased oil supplies pushed crude prices lower, easing fears of energy-driven inflation that had dominated markets for months. As a result, expectations for further Federal Reserve tightening moderated, with markets now pricing roughly a 49% probability of a rate hike by December compared to nearly 70% a week ago. Lower rate expectations, softer Treasury yields, and a weaker dollar supported bullion prices.

Focus this week will be on the Federal Reserve policy meeting, updated economic projections, and policy decisions from the Bank of Japan and Bank of England, which could provide further direction for precious metals and global financial markets.

    • June 15, 2026 10:36

Quote: Ravi Singh – Chief Research Officer – Master Capital Services Limited

MCX Gold futures ended the week lower by 3.26%, but managed to defend the crucial support zone near 146,400, indicating buying interest at lower levels. Despite the recent correction, prices continue to hold above this key swing low, keeping the possibility of a recovery intact. As long as 146,400 remains protected, the contract may attempt to reclaim the 151,000 level initially, followed by the 154,000–155,000 zone where the 21-day and 55-day EMAs are currently placed. On the downside, a decisive break below 146,400 could trigger fresh weakness towards the 141,500 region.

International gold prices surged nearly 2% after reports of progress toward a potential U.S.-Iran peace agreement eased concerns over energy supply disruptions and reduced inflation fears. The decline in crude oil prices and a weaker U.S. dollar further supported bullion prices. Market sentiment improved after U.S. President Donald Trump stated that discussions and final points of a proposed deal had been approved, boosting demand for gold and helping the metal recover from recent lows.

      Quote: Avinash Shekhar, Co-Founder & CEO, Pi42

“Bitcoin is trading around the $65,000 mark today, consolidating after a period of heightened volatility and demonstrating resilience despite ongoing geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainties. The market is now closely focused on the upcoming Federal Reserve guidance, which could influence liquidity expectations across global financial markets. Continued accumulation by institutional participants, including large corporate holders, along with easing mining difficulty, has helped strengthen market sentiment. Ethereum continues to defend key support levels, while XRP is nearing a potential breakout zone, suggesting that investors remain selective in allocating capital toward assets with strong utility and ecosystem growth.

Investors should use this phase to build positions gradually rather than react to short-term price movements. A staggered investment approach remains effective in navigating market fluctuations while maintaining exposure to long-term opportunities in digital assets. The focus should remain on fundamentally strong cryptocurrencies, monitoring institutional flows, macroeconomic developments and on-chain activity. Investors should avoid making decisions driven by market noise and instead maintain a disciplined allocation strategy aligned with their investment horizon and financial objectives.”

    • June 15, 2026 10:15

Quote: Market analysis by Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com

Bitcoin entered the second half of June trading around $65,500, after spending multiple sessions oscillating between $63,600 and $65,800. The market is currently navigating a period where institutional demand has weakened. However, long-term investors continue to hold their positions. This has created a narrow trading range rather than a decisive directional move.

The biggest headwind has been ETF activity. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded significant net outflows during the first half of June. June 2 alone saw $519.1 million leave the category, followed by $396.6 million on June 3, and $325.7 million on June 5. Although June 12 recorded a modest $85.9 million inflow, one positive session is insufficient to reverse a broader institutional slowdown.

From a technical perspective, Bitcoin has established $63,600 as immediate support and $66,000 as immediate resistance. A break above $66,000 could open a path towards $68,000-$70,000, while a sustained move below $63,600 may expose the market to another test of $60,000. Until either level is breached, short-term momentum is likely to remain subdued.

On-chain indicators also point to a market that is cautious rather than euphoric. CryptoQuant has highlighted ETF flows, Coinbase Premium, SOPR and exchange reserves as key metrics for June. The common thread across these indicators is that spot demand remains insufficient to independently drive the next leg higher without institutional participation returning.

Macro events remain the biggest variable. Markets are now focused on the US Federal Reserve’s June 16-17 policy meeting. This will also include updated economic projections. Inflation remains elevated, with US headline inflation rising 0.5% month-on-month in May. Any indication that interest rates may remain higher for longer could keep pressure on risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.

Altcoins continue to trade largely in Bitcoin’s shadow. On June 15, Ethereum traded at $1,714.98, up 1.87% over 24 hours. BNB traded at $613.40, gaining 0.74%. XRP rose 2.65% to $1.18. Solana climbed 3.17% to $70.97, making it the strongest performer among the large-cap assets. TRX advanced 1.46% to $0.3201, supported by stablecoin settlement activity. Despite these gains, none of these assets is yet demonstrating sustained independent leadership.

Our advice: Bitcoin is still trading within a relatively narrow $63,600-$66,000 range, while institutional participation remains weak after ETF outflows exceeding $1 billion during early June. Avoid aggressive lump-sum deployments ahead of the June 16-17 US Federal Reserve meeting. Instead, stagger purchases over multiple tranches and maintain a higher cash allocation until Bitcoin decisively reclaims $66,000 with improving ETF inflows.

LICHF’s loan growth guidance of 10-12% & disbursements of Rs780bn (up 17% y/y) is ambitious.

Calculations suggest incremental disbursements via partners run at a 40bps RoA loss

Management’s mixed delivery on meeting prior guidance keeps growth forecasts lower at 6.1 this year.

Stock market updates: India's FTA Dividend: Who Wins, Who Benefits?

YES SECURITIES report on India’s FTA

India’s recent wave of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) marks a fundamental shift in economic strategy from cautious protectionism toward deeper global trade integration. Combined with Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes, infrastructure investments, supply-chain localization and the global “China+1” diversification trend, these agreements have the potential to accelerate India’s manufacturing and export-led growth. The strategic objective is ambitious but clear, that is achieving US$1 trillion in merchandise exports by 2030. Our FTA Opportunity Score framework identifies Electronics, Pharmaceuticals and Engineering & Machinery Goods as the strongest beneficiaries of India’s evolving trade architecture. These sectors exhibit favourable combinations of export competitiveness, manufacturing expansion, profitability, foreign investment and positive Monte Carlo simulation outcomes, indicating a high probability of converting preferential market access into sustained export growth. Auto Ancillaries also emerge as a meaningful beneficiary, albeit with measured upside. In contrast, Textiles, Gems & Jewellery and Specialty Chemicals generate weaker FTA opportunity profiles despite possessing established export strengths. In these sectors, structural challenges such as declining competitiveness, changing global demand patterns and already high export penetration limit the incremental benefits from tariff liberalization alone. The broader implication is that India’s FTA strategy should be viewed not merely as a trade initiative but as a catalyst for manufacturing expansion, private capex revival, supply-chain integration and long-term industrial transformation. However, the ultimate success of this strategy will depend on improving domestic competitiveness, reducing logistics costs, enhancing productivity and strengthening India’s position within global value chains.

Sectoral updates: NCR Regional Plan 2041 to reshape real estate growth with connectivity-led urban expansio

The NCR Regional Plan 2041 presents a transformative vision for the future of the region by combining enhanced connectivity, planned urban expansion and sustainable development. The goal of enabling 30-minute connectivity between Delhi and key NCR cities through the Namo Bharat RRTS network and superfast rail corridors has the potential to significantly improve regional mobility and strengthen economic integration. Equally important is the plan’s focus on developing new urban centres, promoting transit-oriented development and creating self-sustaining growth hubs that can reduce pressure on existing city cores. For the real estate sector, this framework is expected to unlock new residential corridors, broaden housing demand across emerging locations and encourage more balanced urbanisation. By aligning infrastructure, economic activity and housing growth, the plan lays the foundation for a more connected, liveable and future-ready NCR. - Aman Shharma Managing Director and Founder, Aarize Group

The NCR Regional Plan 2041 is expected to be a major catalyst for residential real estate growth across the region. By enabling faster connectivity between Delhi and key centres such as Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Gurugram and Faridabad through the Namo Bharat RRTS network and other high-speed transit systems, the plan will expand the range of viable residential destinations for homebuyers. Improved accessibility often acts as a strong driver of housing demand, as buyers become more willing to consider locations that offer better value, larger living spaces and improved quality of life without compromising on connectivity. The development of new urban centres and transit-oriented growth corridors will further strengthen residential activity, encourage planned community development and support the creation of more sustainable and well-connected neighbourhoods across the NCR. - Ashish Agarwal, Director, AU Real Estate

The Regional Plan 2041 presents a transformative vision for the region by placing connectivity at the centre of future urban growth. The expansion of the Namo Bharat (RRTS) network and the goal of enabling 30-minute connectivity between Delhi and major NCR cities such as Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida and Ghaziabad will significantly reshape regional mobility. Corridors such as Delhi-Gurugram-Alwar and Delhi-Faridabad-Palwal are expected to strengthen economic linkages, reduce travel times and support more balanced urban development across NCR. As connectivity improves, emerging residential and commercial destinations beyond traditional city centres are likely to witness greater investment and demand. The plan’s focus on transit-oriented development and the creation of new urban centres will play a crucial role in driving sustainable growth, improving liveability and expanding opportunities for both businesses and homebuyers across the region. - Anil Godara, Founder and Managing Director, J Estates

US President Donald Trump confirmed the deal and authorised an end to the US naval blockade of Iranian ports. But it may take months for oil prices to stabilise after the disruptions from the war caused them to surge, pushing costs up gasoline and many other products. - AP-PTI

AI-driven productivity gains could support India’s GDP growth through services sector: Equirus Economics

India’s services sector is among the most exposed to artificial intelligence (AI)-driven productivity gains among major emerging economies, positioning the country to benefit from stronger GDP growth as AI adoption accelerates, according to a report by Equirus Economics.

The report, which examines labour productivity trends across emerging markets, said the current wave of AI adoption is fundamentally different from previous technology cycles because it is concentrated in software-driven applications such as large language models (LLMs), generative AI tools, coding assistants and workflow automation systems

Stock in focus: Key takeaways from Equirus Securities Analysis of Polycab India's FY26 Annual Report

Equirus Securities, in its analysis of Polycab India’s FY26 Annual Report titled “Compounding, the Polycab Way”, highlighted that FY26 marked a strong start to the company’s five-year Project Spring strategy, with execution tracking at or ahead of management guidance across most key parameters.

Market Share Gains and Core Wires & Cables Momentum

According to Equirus, Polycab delivered its sharpest single-year market share gain in recent history, with its share in the organised wires and cables market rising to approximately 30-31% in FY26 from 26-27% in FY25. The company reported domestic volume growth of around 18%, significantly ahead of industry growth of about 11%.

Revenue increased 29% year-on-year to Rs 288.8 billion, driven by strong performance in the wires and cables segment, which grew 32.7% to Rs 255.3 billion. Despite higher copper prices, gross margins improved to 25.3% while EBITDA margin reached a record 13.9%.

      Project Spring Ahead of Plan

Equirus noted that the first year of Project Spring delivered ahead of expectations on several metrics. Wires and cables growth tracked at around 1.5x-2x industry growth, while the FMEG business expanded at nearly 3x-4x industry growth. Wires and cables EBIT margin stood at 13.6%, above the company’s guided range of 11-13%.

The brokerage also highlighted FY26 capex of Rs 14.8 billion, which remains aligned with Polycab’s planned Rs 60-80 billion investment programme over FY26-FY30.

FMEG Business Turns a Growth Driver

One of the key positives identified by Equirus was the structural turnaround in the FMEG segment. The business remained profitable for five consecutive quarters, with margins turning positive at 2.7% compared to losses in the previous year.

Solar emerged as the standout category, registering 3.5x volume growth, achieving around 1.6 GW of installed capacity and capturing nearly 20% market share in string inverters. Premium fans, switches, switchgear and conduits also contributed to broad-based growth.

      BharatNet Orders Boost EPC Visibility

Equirus highlighted that Polycab’s EPC order book expanded sharply to around Rs 113 billion from Rs 62 billion at the end of FY25, supported primarily by BharatNet Phase-III contracts worth nearly Rs 80 billion across Karnataka, Goa, Bihar and Tamil Nadu.

Management continues to view EPC as a strategic forward-integration platform that supports incremental demand for its core wires and cables business.

      Exports Remain the Key Monitorable

The brokerage identified exports as the only area where performance lagged internal aspirations. Export contribution declined to 5.4% of revenue in FY26 from 6% in FY25, impacted by geopolitical disruptions in the Middle East and project delays.

However, Polycab expanded its international footprint to 94 countries and revamped its US distribution strategy. Equirus believes achieving the company’s target of exports contributing more than 10% of revenue by FY30 will depend on the success of these initiatives.

      Financial Observations

Equirus also flagged a few balance-sheet developments worth monitoring. Operating cash flow doubled to Rs 38.1 billion, aided in part by increased supplier financing. Inventory levels rose as the company stocked copper ahead of price increases, while discounting as a percentage of sales increased marginally to 1.6% from 1.4% in FY25.

      Key Watchpoints for FY27

According to Equirus, the key factors to monitor in FY27 include the pace of export recovery, progress in FMEG profitability towards the company’s medium-term targets, and sustainability of margins in the wires and cables business.

Overall, Equirus believes Polycab remains well positioned to benefit from structural growth opportunities in power, renewable energy, data centres, infrastructure, real estate and exports, and does not foresee any significant execution challenges for the company.

Equirus Securities | Equirus Economics | Labour Productivity in Emerging Economies: Catch-up, Innovation, and now AI

      Key highlights from the report:

      * Emerging market labour productivity has compounded at 3-9% annually over the past three decades, though the current cycle is increasingly defined by divergence across economies.

      * Vietnam is the standout performer in the current cycle, recording labour productivity growth of 5.3% CAGR during 2020-26 while China continues to lead in absolute productivity levels.

      * India’s labour productivity growth stood at 4.1% CAGR during 2020-26, compared with 3.4% in the 2010s and 5.3% in the 2000s.

      * India’s GDP per worker has increased from approximately US$6,700 in 1995 to US$22,800 currently. However, the productivity gap with China has widened by more than US$30,000 per worker in absolute terms since 2000.

      * India and Bangladesh currently operate at nearly identical productivity levels, at approximately US$22,800 and US$22,600 per worker, respectively.

      * India recorded the sharpest Covid-era productivity shock among economies studied in the report, with labour productivity contracting by 12.3% in 2020.

      * The report notes that PLI schemes and China+1-led investments are generating gains in electronics, pharmaceuticals and auto components, though manufacturing’s share of GDP has not structurally increased.

      * AI is emerging as a new variable in the productivity outlook for emerging markets.

      * “The current wave (LLMs, generative tools, coding assistants) disproportionately benefits service-led economies.”

      * “India’s financial, IT, and professional services account for ~23% of GVA, and it is precisely this slice that is most exposed to AI-driven unit cost compression and productivity gains.”

      * “Researchers more or less have a consensus on a positive relationship between AI adoption and labour productivity, however the degree of impact is divergent - from moderate productivity gains to large output increases.”

      * “The productivity gains to GDP and unit cost benefits would greatly work in favour for service led economies like India.”

      * The report notes that while AI-driven productivity gains could support GDP growth, the impact on inflation may be more limited, as “the categories that dominate India’s CPI basket (food, commodities, physical services) still remain outside this umbrella.”

      * The report concludes that AI’s productivity dividend across emerging markets is expected to be real but highly uneven, with service-oriented economies such as India likely to benefit sooner than manufacturing-heavy economies.

tock Market Live: Elara Capital economist sees May CPI inflation below 4%; expects FY27 inflation at 5.2–5.3% and RBI rate hike in H2FY27

Garima Kapoor, Deputy Head of Research and Economist at Elara Capital on May CPI data

CPI Inflation for May came a tad below the expectation of 4% despite the pass-through of high fuel prices and elevated food prices. With recent measures announced by the RBI and the government amid the likely expected resolution of the West Asian crisis, the macroeconomic backdrop has turned less adverse. We see Inflation averaging 5.2-5.3% in FY27 and see RBI hiking rates by 50bps in H2FY27

Stock Market Live: Economist Madan Sabnavis projects May CPI inflation at 3.9%, warns of price pressures

Madan Sabnavis, Chief Economist, Bank of Baroda

CPI inflation for May was 3.9% which is marginally lower than our forecast of 3.9%. Inflation is expected to move upwards at a differential pace in the coming months depending on transmission of higher energy prices to different products. And subsequently, the monsoon impact will get reflected in food products prices. The monsoon is already delayed and advice given to farmers was to wait for the rains to arrive before sowing their seeds for the relevant crops.

The inflation numbers are interesting as the higher inflation number of 3.9% against 3.5% in April was still driven by food prices with inflation being 4.8%.

•Food price inflation has been high due to specific products witnessing higher prices such as tomato even as other showed declines. Edible oils continue to witness higher price increases.

•The direct impact of the price increases of fuel products starting with LPG, CNG, petrol and diesel is revealed in higher prices of

      oTransport of goods,

      oTransport by own vehicle

      oGlass products

•The other area within services where prices have gone up sharply was restaurants with inflation of 5.8%. this is a direct impact of energy prices going up as well as food raw materials which has caused them to increase prices.

•The personal care group has inflation of 18.5% mainly due to gold and silver prices. But this should ease sharply in the coming months with the price of these metals coming down. However, the higher duty imposed would continue to exert pressure on prices.

•The state wise inflation numbers remain fairly stylized with the 4 southern states witnessing higher numbers- TN, AP, Telangana and Odisha. Interestingly most of the north eastern states have witnessed inflation of less than 3% with Mizoram having the lowest of 1%.

•We do expect inflation for the year to range between 5.2-5.5% on the assumption of oil being on an average $ 90-100/barrel.
