Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has tendered his resignation following the defeat in the Assembly elections. He sent the resignation letter to Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.
The Governor has accepted his resignation and his council of ministers. The Governor has requested him to continue in office until alternate arrangements are made, says a release from Lok Bhavan issued on Tuesday.
Out of the 234 seats in the Assembly, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam won 108 seats while the DMK finished a distant second with 59 seats and the AIADMK secured 47 seats to finish third, and the rest by other parties.
