I have Asian Paints shares. My average price is ₹2,647. Should I continue to hold or exit?
Muthubasavan
Asian Paints (₹2,445): The stock is getting support around ₹2,100. The recent bounce from the low of ₹2,116 made in March this year is giving some relief. You may have to be cautious. Immediate resistance is around ₹2,600. A break above it can take the stock up to ₹2,850 or even ₹3,150 in the short term. But ideally, the stock has to rise past ₹3,400 to become bullish.
You can consider two options. One is to keep a stop-loss now at ₹2,280 and exit on a rise at ₹2,830. Move the stop-loss up to ₹2,660 when the price touches ₹2,770. Second option is to buy more at current levels and keep a wide stop-loss at ₹1,990. Follow the stop-loss revisions mentioned for the first option here also.
I intend to buy ABB for the long term. Please suggest a good entry point from technical point of view.
Prashant K Pore
ABB (₹7,229): The long-term outlook is bullish. The strong surge above ₹6,400 last month confirms a double-bottom pattern on the chart. This is a bullish reversal pattern. The recent rise is also happening from a strong long-term trendline support. This strengthens the bullish case. Strong support is in the broad ₹6,400-₹6,000 region.
Some resistance is in the ₹7,900-₹8,100 region. A break above ₹8,100 can take ABB share price up to ₹10,000 in the long term. Buy now and accumulate on dips at ₹6,850. Keep the stop-loss at ₹5,640. Trail the stop-loss up to ₹8,050 as soon as the stock goes up to ₹8,450. Revise the stop-loss higher to ₹8,860 and ₹9,250 when the stock touches ₹9,180 and ₹9,650 respectively. Exit the stock at ₹9,980.
I have bought Tejas Networks at ₹445. What is the outlook? Can the price go up to ₹1,000?
Vijaya, Mysuru
Tejas Networks (₹415): The trend is down and strong since November 2024. A strong rise above ₹660 is needed to turn the outlook bullish. But that looks unlikely. Even if that happens, it may take a lot of time and will need some strong positive trigger. So, we do not see any chance of the price going back up to ₹1,000.
Immediate supports are at ₹395 and ₹380. If it manages to sustain above them, a rise to ₹500 is likely in the short term. If you have the risk appetite, keep a stop-loss at ₹375 and hold the stock. Revise the stop-loss higher to ₹445 and ₹465 when the price touches ₹455 and ₹480 respectively. Exit the stock at ₹490.
What is the outlook for Siemens. Can I buy the stock for long term?
Reema, Mumbai
Siemens (₹3,828): The stock has made a bullish breakout of its prolonged sideways range that was in place since May last year. Strong supports are there at ₹3,450 and ₹3,350. From a long-term perspective, there is potential for Siemens share price to target ₹4,800 over the next one year. An intermediate dip to ₹3,500-₹3,450 in the short-term cannot be ruled out.
So, you may have to buy the stock in two tranches. Buy the stock now and accumulate on dips at ₹3,580. Keep the stop-loss at ₹3,180. Move the stop-loss up to ₹3,720 as soon as the stock goes up to ₹4,080. Revise the stop-loss higher to ₹4,120 and ₹4,480 when the share price touches ₹4,350 and ₹4,620 respectively. Exit the stock at ₹4,750.
