1. ‘Not a single rupee has been diverted’: Rajesh Exports Chairman on SEBI charges

Rajesh Exports Chairman Rajesh Mehta has denied allegations by SEBI of fund diversion and financial misrepresentation, stating that no shareholder or company funds were used for promoter benefit. The regulator, in an interim order, alleged that the company overstated nearly ₹15.15 lakh crore in revenues from subsidiaries between FY21 and FY25, largely linked to overseas entities such as Valcambi. It also flagged missing financial disclosures and suspected fictitious transactions with an entity that denied involvement. The company said the transactions relate to overseas subsidiaries and that all required documents have been submitted. Experts indicate potential scrutiny under tax and governance frameworks.

2. India targets 500 flex-fuel pumps by end-2026, 5,000 by end-2027: Puri

India plans to roll out about 500 flex-fuel dispensing stations by the end of 2026 and 5,000 by 2027 to promote ethanol-based mobility and reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels. The initial phase will begin with 50 to 100 stations in key cities, including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur, alongside the launch of new flex-fuel vehicle models. The initiative aims to create a nationwide ecosystem for vehicles using higher ethanol blends such as E85 and E100. It is expected to boost domestic ethanol demand, support farm incomes and enhance energy security, as India currently imports large volumes of fossil fuels.

3. Centre to replace ATF price cap with fixed-price mechanism under PSF scheme

The Centre will replace the temporary cap on aviation turbine fuel prices with a fixed‑price mechanism under the ₹10,000 crore Price Stabilisation Fund. Benchmark ATF prices have been set at ₹86.32 per litre for domestic operations and ₹104.49 per litre for international operations at the free‑on‑board level. After adding taxes and charges, the effective selling price in Delhi is estimated at around ₹115 per litre. The scheme aims to provide price stability for airlines and will operate temporarily, with costs recovered when global fuel prices moderate. Participation by airlines remains optional under the framework.

4. SC releases draft regulations on use of AI in courts, seeks comments from stakeholders, public

The Supreme Court has released draft regulations on the use of artificial intelligence in courts, stating that judicial outcomes cannot be based solely on algorithmic decision‑making. The framework applies to the Supreme Court, High Courts and tribunals, and invites public feedback until June 20. The draft permits AI use for case management, scheduling, legal research, translation and document summarisation, subject to human supervision. It prohibits AI from deciding judgments, sentencing or assessing witness credibility. A Human‑in‑the‑Loop approach is mandated to ensure judicial authority remains with judges. The framework also proposes oversight bodies, audits and strict data protection rules to govern AI deployment in the judiciary.
