Tata AIA Life Insurance on Monday launched Shubh Health Criti, a unit-linked insurance plan that bundles coverage for over 60 critical illnesses with a market-linked health fund. The product is technically a solution comprising three components: Tata AIA Health SIP (the unit-linked health plan), Tata AIA Health Buddy (a wellness product) and the Tata AIA Comprehensive Protection Rider.
The plan allows policyholders to build a dedicated health fund over time while earning market-linked returns. Withdrawals from the fund for medical treatment are tax-free. The plan also includes a 30-year premium guarantee, outpatient coverage for the policyholder and family under a dual life OPD benefit, and a premium waiver in the event of death or disability.
Critical illnesses covered include cancer, heart disease and stroke. Additional benefits include accidental death cover and total and permanent disability coverage. The plan is open to individuals aged 18 to 65 years.
The product is linked to Health Buddy, Tata AIA’s wellness platform, which enables health tracking, routine checkups and personalised health guidance. Premiums paid towards Health Buddy are returned at the end of the policy term, subject to conditions.
Jeelani Basha, Chief Business Officer of Tata AIA Life Insurance, said the product was designed to bridge financial protection with proactive health management.
Tata AIA is a joint venture between Tata Sons and AIA Group. The insurer reported a total premium income of ₹31,484 crore for FY25, up 23 per cent year-on-year, and ranks among the top three private insurers in India by individual weighted new business premium. Market-linked returns under the plan are subject to market risks.
