With the new legislation rollout slated for May 2027, India Inc has been buckling up as non-compliance with the DPDP Act and data breaches carry heavy penalties of up to ₹250 crore per incident.

The comprehensive privacy legislation DPDP Act balances the rights of individuals to protect their personal data with the need for lawful data processing. It mandates clear consent, strong security safeguards and introduces heavy penalties for data breaches.

Srinivas L, Joint MD and Joint CEO, 63SATS Cybertech, in an interaction with businessline said the recent cyberattacks on public institutions such as mutual fund houses and educational institutions has exposed the vulnerability of IT infrastructure.

The advent of AI has made it more easier for hackers to break into any secured servers and create a havoc, he said.

On the flip-side, he added any threat can be dealt with as time to analyse a threat has been reduced to just 20 seconds with AI from two hours, he said.

63SATS Cybertech has zeroed in on DPDP Act compliance services alongside AI security as its core business drivers.

The cybersecurity firm has partnered with leading DPDP solutions providers such as IDfy, GoTrust, RNR and Qila.io. The company also offer a 5-day free DPDP Gap Assessment to corporates who are required to be DPDP-compliant, said Srinivas.

“The Act is so comprehensive that it needs multiple specialists to work on each segments,” he said.

63SATS Cybertech offers an end-to-end, operational privacy architecture rather than a point-in-time framework, guiding organisations through a continuous four-stage lifecycle of assessing, designing, implementing, and monitoring.

The company’s enterprise solution CyberSecurity Force implements continuous, automated AI-based red-teaming and an AI CyberOps model within its security operations centre. This infrastructure is aimed at addressing today’s compressed threat timelines, where vulnerability exploits develop within 72 hours.
